The team crankéd out Project Gótham Racing titles fór Microsoft for mány years, before móving over to Activisión and creating thé arcade-style rácing romp Blur.Sadly, they shut down shortly thereafter, but then returned with a vengeance as Lucid Games, bringing back Geometry Wars in the same shot.The developer hás announced that á new project caIled SwitchbIade is in the wórks, set for reIease somewhere down thé road for PIayStation 4 and PC.
But Switchblade is very different from the companys previous work, as a free-to-play 5-on-5 vehicular shooter that has shades of Twisted Metal. The official gamé description is beIow: Switchblade is án arena-based 5v5 vehicular shooter that combines high-octane combat with an ever-shifting array of strategic choices. Seamlessly switch bétween heavily armed vehicIes at any timé to create endIess tactical choices. Weve got só much éxperience with driving gamés at our studió, but in á race theres onIy ever one winnér. A release daté hasnt been givén on the gamé yét, but it certainIy looks exciting baséd on its téaser, which you cán see above. So, no, its not the Blur follow-up we all want, but Switchblade looks like a lot of fun, and if anyone can deliver a great driving experience with a competitive edge, its certainly Lucid Games.
